On a Red Flag Warning Day several fire broke out across the area. Brush 34 was assisting with a mountain fire on the west end County while the rest of the Elkton fleet responded to three brush fires and a

barn fire in the Elkton area. For most of the day we did not have any of our apparatus in the station and had engines from Grottoes and Weyers Cave Fire Company standing by for additional emergencies. In all over 50 firefighters from several agencies from the east end of Rockingham County and southern Page County worked to control the fires.

Additional and larger pictures can be found here (opens in new window)

We would like to thank all of the agencies that sent people and units to assist us.
